How to Use Vaginal Estrogen Cream
- Wash your hands with warm water and soap.
- Remove the cap from the tube and attach the end of the applicator onto the tube.
- Squeeze from the bottom of the tube to get 1 gram of cream into the applicator. Use the measurement markings on the applicator to make sure you have the correct dose.
- Remove the applicator from the tube.
- Locate the opening to your vagina.
- Insert the applicator into the vagina (like using a tampon), and push on the plunger of the applicator to insert the medication.
- Then slowly withdraw the applicator.
- Using a finger you can apply excess cream to the labia/vulva
- Clean the applicator with warm water and soap.
How to apply Vaginal Estrogen Cream with Finger (if you prefer to use your finger, or prefer to ONLY target the tissue near the opening of the vagina), you can use your finger instead of the applicator
- Wash your hands with soap and water and dry thoroughly.
- Using the applicator, squeeze tube to measure out 1 gram of cream onto your finger.
- Separate the labia, and carefully insert your finger into the vagina and spread the cream. Also spread the cream near the urethra and vulvar vestibule (the vulvar vestibule is the ring of tissue at the opening of the vagina located between the labia minora).
